At the End of the Earth
OIL ON CANVAS. ORIGINAL SIZE 46x26 in
- Old-time prints depict the end of the earth as a place where the world meets
- The earth was thought to resemble a round dish. Having reached the edge,
one could look over into the unknown.
In the artist's imagination, the end of the earth is a place where earth's present
meets the past, all the way back to geological times.
It is a place where the ocean wriggles its mighty body off the edge of the abyss.
Time disappears there and energy fields concentrate into one gaping black
hole. It is as if one just has to step down to end up there.
Are you anxious to locate the end of the earth?Double all absences, multiply by twowhatever's missing, and you'll have some clueto what it's like here.
